Miniland Doll Sweater

This top-down raglan style sweater pattern is for the 38cm Miniland Doll.

It will also fit 34cm Paola Reina/Minikane Dolls or any doll with the following measurements: Chest: 24cm
Waist: 25-26cm
Hips: 26-27cm
Arm Length: 9-12cm
Torso: 15-17cm.
It is knitted in the round and requires only a small amount of seaming under the arms.
The sweater has a relaxed fit, therefore it may be suitable for larger dolls such as the Cabbage Patch Kid.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
Yarn: 50 grams of Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury 8ply or any DK weight yarn 100 metres/110 yards

Needles:
4.5mm DPNs, 4.0mm DPNs

Notions: stitch markers, waste yarn or small flexible stitch holders, darning needle

GAUGE
20 stitches & 21 rows per 10cm/4” of stockinette in the round on 4.5mm needles

ABBREVIATIONS
DPNs - Double Pointed Needles
CO - Cast on
BOR - Beginning of Round
SM - Slip Marker
K - Knit
PM - Place Marker
st – stitch
sts - stitches
m1r - make-1 right (Insert the left needle from back to front under the bar between stitches and knit into the front loop of the bar)
m1l - make-1 left (Insert the left needle from front to back under the bar and knit into the back loop of the bar)

ssk - Slip 2 sts purlwise and then insert left needle into the front of the two slipped stitches and knit together
k2tog - insert right needle into the front of the first two stitches on the left needle and knit together

INSTRUCTIONS
 
NECK
 
Using a long tail cast on method (I love the Twisted German Cast On by Andrea Mowry) and 4.5mm DPNs, CO 48 stitches. Being careful not to twist your work, join in the round and place a marker at the BOR.
 
Round 1: *K1,P1* repeat from * to* until you come to BOR marker
Round 2-3: repeat Round 1
 
SHOULDER SHAPING
 
Setup Round: SM, K7, PM, K10, PM, K14, PM, K10, PM, K7 to BOR
 
Round 1: *K to one st before marker, m1r, K1, SM, K1, m1l, repeat from * three more times and knit to BOR
 
Round 2: Knit
 
Repeat Rounds 1-2 for a total of 8 times until you have 112 stitches.
 
SEPARATE SLEEVES
 
Round 1: *Knit to marker, remove marker, place 26 sleeve stitches on a piece of waste yarn, remove marker, repeat from * once more and knit to BOR
 
BODY
 
Rounds 1-7: Knit
 
Switch to 4mm needles.
 
Rounds 8-10: *K1, P1* repeat from * to *
Cast off using a stretchy bind off method. (I like to use this one: *K1, P1, Knit those two stitches together. Repeat from * until all stitches are cast off.)
 
SLEEVES
 
Pick up stitches from waste yarn using 4.5mm DPNS and knit a total of 10 rounds. Insert BOR marker at start of round.
 
Rounds 1-10: Knit
Rounds 11-13: *K1, k2tog, K to last 3 sts, ssk, K1* repeat from * to * until end of round
 
Switch to 4mm needles.
 
Rounds 14-16: *K1, P1* repeat from * to * until end of round
  

FINISHING
 
Using the tail, close the gap under the arms by picking up a few stitches and weave in the ends. Weave in the ends on the neck, cuffs and hem. Gently block if required.
